Job Summary
Business Unit level position responsible for financial analysis, planning, and issue identification as well as financial reporting, internal controls, accounting activities and policy adherence for assigned areas. Supervising and coaching finance and accounting team members with the objective of accurate, timely and proper financial reporting and controls. The Finance Manager has direct, hands-on responsibility for financial and accounting activity within their area to support the enterprise system. Supervises two Controllers. The position will report to the Regional Director of Finance.
Responsibility
* Establish working relationship and consistent communication with Business Unit General Manager including assistance on business analytics and building financial plans.
* Develop and implement strategic profit improvement initiatives.
* Provide financial analysis, interpretation of variances from budgets & forecasts and advise management on problems/issues as identified and participate in providing solutions.
* Become knowledgeable in various financial and operating systems in order to provide support and direction as the business requires.
* Oversee such areas as general accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, payroll, inventory valuation, accounts payable, accounts receivable and production reporting.
* Ensure accurate and timely reporting of operating results.
* Cooperate with the internal audit group and external auditors when the Business Unit is being audited; audit group will assign a rating to the audit.
* Promote functional alignment within the Business Unit and/or region.
* Establish a working relationship with the Regional Director of Finance.
* Promote diversified recruiting, hiring, training and managing of financial personnel and accounting staff in an assigned Business Unit.
* Implement and administer established accounting policies, procedures and best practices.
* Work with other functional areas in executing credit, accounts receivable and inventory controls and measured performance.
* Build relationships with both internal and external customers.
* Enforce employee accountability with regard to safe work environment, quality and efficiency.
Education & Work Experience
Bachelors Degree (Accounting or Business preferred) with at least 10+ years of related professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least 5+ years experience in a multisite environment.
Knowledge of various software products including Microsoft and SAP preferred.
CPA - Preferred
