Job Summary
Directs and oversees the financial management and accounting activities within the division.  Reports to the Corporate Controller with strong dotted line responsibility to the Senior Vice President of the Mill division.  Key role and driver in working with the business analyst group to provide business analysis to leadership teams vital to the decision making process and to improve overall profitability of the division.
Responsibility
* Manages the accounting and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate reporting of mill division business results.
* Operates as a partner with the division Senior Vice President, other operating managers, and the division business analysts to identify and implement operating improvements and efficiencies.  Evaluates business performance, new business opportunities, capital requests, and plan variances, and recommends courses of action.
* Partners with the division business analysts to develop short- and longer-term financial plans, budgets and forecasts.  Compares actual results to financial budgets and forecasts in order to assess the business performance.
* Strives to constantly present opportunities for process improvements in all facilities.  Evaluates and assesses current accounting, financial management, business planning, and internal controls processes and makes and implements recommendation that will improve overall processes and efficiencies.
* Provides the leadership to create a high-performing finance workforce, ensuring the hiring of top talent and development of staff.
* Develops divisional reporting and accounting systems and policies that meet SOX internal control requirements.  Ensures that these policies and procedures operate effectively at all locations in the mill division.
* Partners with the division business analyst to develop and monitor business performance metrics that will drive profitability.
* Coordinates audit, credit, tax, and risk activities with corporate and /or group management.
* Provide guidance and training for all financial activities in accordance with corporate and division policies.
Education & Work Experience
* Bachelor Degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance, with 12+ years of related professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 
* Master¿s degree/MBA preferred
* Professional accreditation, CPA or CMA preferred
* Professional experience and working knowledge of mill operations strongly preferred.
* In-depth knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles as well as provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
* Well-developed presentation skills, both written and verbal.
* Strong business acumen and well-developed business analysis skills.
* Proven ability to develop strong relationships at all levels throughout an organization.
