Job Summary
Responsible for production operations including safety, planning and shipping at an assigned plant. Conducts/schedules training of employees as required. Ensures company guidelines/policies are adhered to.
Responsibility
· Builds an effective partnership with union and union stewards in an effort to improve overall plant production.
· Perform coaching and counseling of team members to perform to SSCC standards.
· Conduct performance appraisals and recommends salary adjustments in accordance with union guidelines.
· Schedule plant team members to insure coverage and coordinates activities.
· Manage recruitment and selection of plant team members.
· Direct and coordinate manufacturing through planning and expediting.
· Coordinate and maintain an on-going effective safety plan.
· Coordinate maintenance work with customer and manufacturing needs.
· Control manufacturing and conversion cost within budgetary limits.
· Establish goals, track results uptime, quality productivity.
· Assure that on a daily basis all SSCC standards and Customer Commitments (i.e.; R&A, safety, output, on-time delivery, etc.) are followed within the plant.
· Monitor all control procedures
· Ensure all customer feedback is promptly dealt with and any complaints are corrected immediately.
· Act as liaison with union/union employees and General Manager
· Build effective relationships with all departments in plant to produce a superior product.
· Maintain suitable stock levels and order supplies necessary to run the plant.
· Prepare and submit reports as required.
Education & Work Experience
Bachelor¿s degree
Previous operations management preferred.
Experience in manufacturing industry or related field
Previous supervisory experience
